All About Country Cottage Style
I am a huge fan of the country cottage style decor, especially for bedrooms. I am working now to design my master bedroom to perfectly display that aesthetic. My hope is to enter my room and instantly feel as though I’ve been transported to the English countryside, where homes are covered in stone and ivy. And a home where the bed is covered beautifully in natural linen sheets. Because country cottage style is all about tattered and mismatched pieces, about feeling cozy and at the same time feeling like you’ve entered a Thomas Kinkade painting. But if you scroll through images of ‘country cottage style bedroom’ you’ll find pretty wallpapers, iron bed frames, earthy color palettes, long white drapes and more. However, what you won’t see is what’s under that gorgeous duvet.
Why Natural Linen Sheets?
In my opinion, the sheets reign supreme in the bedroom. Because they are where you spend HALF of your ENTIRE LIFE. So, let’s find ones that not only fit your country cottage style aesthetic, but that also are free from toxins, chemical treatments and are made from 100% organic cotton. Thus, the natural linen sheets come into play. In addition, it is important to find sheets that are made right here in the USA. I love supporting companies in my own backyard who keep the supply chain short. Read on below to find out my top 5 natural linen sheets. I’ve done the research so you don’t have to! Go to sleep knowing that you are providing a safe and healthy place for your family to rest their heads.
Top 5 Natural Linen Sheets
American Blossom Linens
American Blossom Linens definitely ranks #1 in my opinion. These linen sheets are fantastic and are the only sheets I sleep on in my home. What makes American Blossom Linens so great is that they are the ONLY organic linen sheets made entirely in the USA, from the organic cotton farm all the way to your bed. 100% American quality. In addition, they only use 100% organic cotton.
As someone who has been sleeping on these sheets for years now, I can confidently say they get softer with each wash. And linen sheets will naturally wrinkle, but these sheets will wrinkle less and less with each wash. Also, they are incredibly soft and cooling to sleep on, which is especially nice during the hot summer months. Finally, these sheets are woven to last a lifetime and are definitely worth the one time investment. Their linen sheets cost $299 USD for a queen 4 piece set. Check out their website here.
Pros:
- 100% organic cotton
- Made entirely in the USA
- Woven to last a lifetime
- Vintage style
Cons:
- None!

Fabdreams
I am REALLY impressed with this company and the look of these linens. They are ethically made with 100% organic cotton. In addition, they are a smaller family run company from Toronto, and these sheets are made right here in the USA. There are several natural linen options in colors such as blush, gray, sky blue, white and natural undyed. And they look incredibly soft and give that vintage cottage style aesthetic. To make them extra soft, they are stone washed for that pre-loved feeling. With 3 and 4 piece sets I’m sure you can find the exact match for your bed. If I had to pick a second best option, Fabdreams is a no-brainer. Their linen sheet sets only cost $154 USD for a queen 3 piece set. The most inexpensive on the list! Check out their products here.
To show our commitment, we have achieved certifications with OEKO-TEX, Global Organic Textile Standard, Better Cotton Initiative and European Flax.

Brooklinen
Brooklinen is a very popular choice. It has been all over the news and has actually won many awards. And this is for good reason! When in doubt about a product, the best place to start is the reviews, and wow the people love these linens. They even just released a 100% organic cotton option. And these linens give off that rustic cottage vibe and I am loving it. In addition, they have a pretty cool rewards program that might help you save some money. And let’s be honest, linen sheets are definitely an investment. My only downside to these sheets is that they are not made in the USA and they are not as sustainable as the other options on the list. Their washed linen sheet sets start at $299 USD for a queen 4 piece set. Click here to check out Brooklinen.
Pros:
- Highly rated by customers
- 100% organic cotton option
- Many different styles available
Cons:
- Not made in the USA
- Not as sustainable as the others

Rough Linen
Next up, we have Rough Linen. I am loving this company as well! Rough Linen is a woman owned company operating in California. They make 100% linen sheets with European flax and manufacture entirely in the USA. Quite simply, this is a just a beautiful company with a beautiful product. They also make linens for the kitchen and bathroom as well. So you could do all your shopping in one spot. Another great aspect of Rough Linen is the amount of colors you get to choose from. These include; white, ivory, natural, gray, blue and black. And as you know, color choices are not very common in linen sheets. Personally, my favorite is the natural color. My only issue with this company is the price tag. Their most inexpensive sheet set starts at $376 USD for a queen 2 piece set. Click here to shop their products.
Rough Linen’s spirit originates with the story of a family heirloom —homespun linen from a stone cottage in Scotland, come to light four generations later. The thread from this time and place to what we create today is unbroken.

Red Land Cotton
Finally, we have Red Land Cotton. This is a great company, with their cotton grown in Alabama and their sheets made entirely in the USA. They make loads of different options for bedding, towels and even loungewear. In addition, they have beautiful sheets with fantastic reviews. They would look gorgeous on an old fashioned four post bed in your country cottage bedroom. I call them southern vintage sheets. However, the only issue I have with Red Land Cotton is that they are not organic. Thus, it is last on my list. In addition, they do not have a specific linen option. But I put it on the list because their sheets look very vintage with wonderful reviews and are made here in the USA. Their classic sheet set cost $225 USD for a queen 4 piece set.
